A client was already virtualized on 2 hypervisor servers, but looking to move from direct attached storage to shared storage - where a product like Nimble is a rock star!

Initially, we simply migrated several VMs to their new Nimble SAN - requiring a new switch and host bus adapters for iSCSI and multipath I/O to the hypervisor hosts.  After decommissioning the now unnecessary direct storage on the servers, we upgraded RAM on both hosts. Finally, we deployed server clustering so either physical server could host all the VMs in case of a failure on the other host.  With the insane performance on the Nimble, added memory, ability to failover on the cluster - the only thing remaining was to address backups and off-site replication for disaster recovery (DR).
